DESCRIPTION:The 1890 House Museum will have a dedication ceremony for our new historic marker commemorating the family home of Chester F. Wickwire on Saturday\, April 25\, at 1:00pm.\nPlease join us as we celebrate this special moment for the museum\, be a part of the photos we will take\, and stick around for a free reception afterwards. The marker was fully funded by the William G. Pomeroy Foundation\, and the ceremony will take place as a part of National Historic Marker Weekend.  \nTours of the 1890 House will be available at our usual rates before the ceremony\, starting at 11am\, and after the ceremony until 4pm. \nWe hope to see you there!

DESCRIPTION:Please join us for our 2026 Ice Cream Social!\nEarly in our history\, the 1890 House held an annual Ice Cream Social\, and last year for our 50th Anniversary we decided to bring that fun tradition back to the community. We are continuing the tradition in 2026\, and everyone is invited! Please visit us in our carriage house from 12:00pm (noon) to 4:00pm on Sunday\, June 7th\, and enjoy ice cream\, strawberry shortcake\, and vendors\, plus yard games\, and crafts for children. \nBeginning at 1:00pm\, the JazzHappensBand will be playing traditional Dixieland Jazz music for your entertainment. \nCost is $5.00 per person\, payable on the day of the event\, at the door. \nAre you interested in being a volunteer\, or want to have a craft booth or food truck there?
