The late 19th century had its fair share of the macabre traditions for death and mourning. Learn about superstitions, funeral customs, hair wreaths, memento mori and learn the true story of the death of Chester Wickwire. Explore the Wickwire Residence by candlelit and have the opportunity yourself to seek out the spirits in the castle. Tours run at 7 & 9:30 pm. Limited availability. Wassail! wassail! all over the town, Our toast it is white and our ale it is brown; Our bowl it is made of the white maple tree; With the wassailing bowl, we'll drink to thee. Join us for our annual Holiday Open House at the 1890 House Museum on Sunday, December 10 from 1-5pm. Explore the museum and its vibrant holiday decorations, enjoy refreshments from cider to our traditional Victorian Wassail! This event is free and open to the public.
