Spirits of the 1890 House Museum Ghost Tour

Friday, October 18, 2024, a special guided ghost tour at 12pm, 1:30pm, or 3pm! The 1890 House Museum was the home of Chester Wickwire, his wife Ardell, and later his son Frederic and wife Marian. Guests often wonder if their spirits remain in the home. Do the spirits of the. Wickwire family linger?
What’s included
Tour the house, learn about your Cortland past history, and learn possible answers to the following questions: Who is the little girl that plays tricks on the 3rd floor? Why were the mirrors above the fireplace removed in the 1920’s? Who is still playing billiards and smoking cigars?
What’s not included
Note that this is not a regular museum tour with the information that is usually presented regarding the history of the house, although tour attendees will hear some of the house’s history during the ghost tour, and get to peek into the many shadowy places within.
Restrictions
Note that the tours will traverse all of the floors in the house, however, only the first floor is accessible to those with impaired mobility.
